Hilite helps

Last year, the Community Involvement Team in Whitehall raised over $ 11,000 in donations to charities.

The team has organized many great activities. There were soup, bread and cake sales, greeting card sales for Valentine's Day and Christmas, gift basket sales for Mother's Day, auctions, the Hilite Hacker golf tournament, Plinco and many other fundraisers.

The donations are divided among different organizations:

  • "No more guidelines" is an organization that enables children and young people with special needs to play sports or take part in outings and not just stand on the sidelines.
  • "Toghether we rise" wants to improve the lives of children in foster families. The children receive e.g. own duffel bags, bicycles or skateboards. The organization also offers college scholarships for 10-15 teenagers a year.
  • "Pound Buddies" is the largest animal shelter in Muskegon County and puts people and pets together for 25 years.
  • "Wounded Warrior Project" supports veterans or soldiers on active duty, who were wounded during a military mission, and their families to find their way back to civilian life.

The Whitehall Community Involvement Team would like to thank all supporters.
